Overview & Highlights

If you find yourself wandering the sunny streets of Cuernavaca, make your way to El Barco Pozolería, a true gem nestled in the heart of the city at Comonfort 6A. This renowned Mexican restaurant specializes in pozole, a traditional soup that warms both the body and soul. With a menu that celebrates the vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine, El Barco is an essential stop for anyone looking to indulge in authentic and delicious food.

The atmosphere at El Barco Pozolería is enchanting, especially if you opt for a table in the charming outdoor courtyard beside the soothing sounds of a bubbling fountain. As you sit under the open sky, you’ll be enveloped in a refreshing breeze that perfectly complements your dining experience. Guests have noted how the serene ambiance makes for a delightful evening meal, adding a touch of magic to every bite.

Now, let's dive into the menu. Here, the pozole takes center stage, with options like the luscious pozole rojo and the refreshing pozole verde, each bursting with distinct flavors and textures. Diners rave about the rich, savory broth slow-cooked to perfection, encased within tender hominy and garnished with crisp radishes and fresh avocado. But don’t overlook the tacos dorados de sesos, a local favorite that combines crispy textures with exquisite flavors, making them irresistible. And for a sweet finish, if available, the pay de guayaba is a must-try—a delightful guava pie that perfectly balances sweetness and a satisfying crust.

Customer testimonials reflect the high-quality dining experience you can expect at El Barco. Melissa Valeen shares her delight, mentioning how delicious and reasonably priced the pozole is—making it an excellent value for those who want to savor authentic Mexican culinary delights. Likewise, Ravi's recommendation to sit in the tranquil backyard is spot on; the combination of fresh air and a nearby fountain enhances your dining journey, turning a simple meal into a memorable night out.

With attentive and quick service, it's no wonder guests like Armando Soto and Jillian Forte returned multiple times during their visits, eager to explore the diverse offerings of El Barco. The eatery’s ability to provide both tasty food and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a standout choice when dining in the city.

El Barco Pozolería isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a place where flavors, ambiance, and attentive service intertwine to create an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're a local or a traveler, you owe it to yourself to visit and discover the magic of Mexican cuisine at its finest.

Dined here three times during our week in Cuernavaca. Delicious pozole for a good price. We highly recommend the tacos dorados de sesos here, and the pay de guayaba if they have it. Everything was great.

The place is quite and lovely... I suggest to take the table in the back yard (open top) next to the fountain...the fresh air and sound of running water will make your night.... Coming to the food, pozole verde was good and my friend had Cameron cocktail sort off.. all of them are delicious and worth the money... The service was attentive and quick... Loved it.

At the time of our visit, it wasn't busy, that made our experience very positive. Food was great, service was top notch . For sure I will comeback.

Absolutely loved every dish we tried! Pozole rojo, vegetariano tostadas y chalupas! Food was fresh and fast. We went 4 times in 4 days!

Excellent Mexican food, the specialty is Pozole, but "tostadas" are really great too, it's cheap and tasty food.

Excellent pozole, tostadas and tacos dorados available Service is rather quick but parking is a bit tricky in their parking lot unless you handover the keys (which nobody wants to do) Located in the old city centre
